The Calgary Folk Festival unveiled their full lineup today, and as expected, the gamut of artists runs well past what some might consider the slender stereotype of “folk” music.
The festival, celebrated at Prince’s Island in late July, will feature Andrew Bird, Hey Rosetta!, Valerie June, and Trampled by Turtles on Thursday; Rufus Wainwright, Amos Lee, Fishbone, Lee Fields & the Expressions, and Great Lake Swimmers on Friday; Saturday will see Bruce Cockburn, Patty Griffin, Line Below, Arto Lindsay, Jason Isbell, and Seun Kuti take the main stage; and Sunday finishes off with HYDRA, The Jayhawks, Matt Andersen, and Noura Mint Seymali.
Of course, the lineup features much more than the main stage acts, with 70 acts from across the world coming to Calgary. We’ll be updating with a full list, including the breakdown of who to watch, where to go and why it’s such an amazing festival to attend, in the coming weeks!
