This just in: Calgary’s Open Sails and Kingsland will be playing with post-hardcore rockers Silverstein and The Wonder Years at The Den on June 12. Tickets are $20, and you can find out more about the show on their Facebook page.
Silverstein is touring in support of their seventh studio album, This Is How The Wind Shifts, released in February. They are starting off in Europe in early April, followed by an Austrailian jaunt later in the month, and are hitting North America after that. This Canadian group has been around since the turn of the century, and has toured extensively.
The Wonder Years, an American band known for their unusual and clever song titles (Zombies Are The New Black, for instance) are also masters of the road, and yes – they got their name from the television show.
Locally, Kingsland and Open Sails have a wonderful following, and fans who go to see them are in for a treat. Likewise, those attending for Silverstein are going to find out that their own city has some pretty amazing talent.
