FUNdraiser For Summer Sequel to Girls Rock Camp

Sequicons leading off at the first Girls Rock Camp performance

The first incarnation of the New Black’s Girls Rock Camp was, by all measures, a rocking success. Gathering some incredible local talent, they showed some lucky youngsters what being in a rock band was really all about – everything from band dynamics, song writing and how to handle a photo shoot, right up to performing in front of a live (and highly partisan) audience at the end.

If you want to help get the second wave of girls into camp, there’s a FUNdraiser at Broken City this Thursday, featuring several great local acts, including Miesha & the Spanks, All Hands on Jane, Sequicons and Kenna Burima. All proceeds from the night will go towards supporting the summer session of the rock camp. Doors open at nine, and the acts hit the stage starting at ten.

If you want to help out, donate materials or skills, or you want more information for your own little rocker, you can contact Nicola for all the details, or check out their Facebook page.
